To defray the high operating costs to the Core Facility, it receives considerable financial support through NIH grants to the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, the JCCC, and the Center for the AIDS Research, and is also subsidized directly by the JCCC, the UCLA AIDS Institute and the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
To continue to receive these subsidies, we must be able to prove that the Core provides a useful service and enhances research at UCLA. The best way to show this is for investigators to acknowledge the Core Facility and its funding sources in every publication that contains data acquired in the Flow Cytometry Core Facility. If you then provide us with a title page, or a reprint, we can report those publications as progress in our grant continuations and renewals.
We suggest acknowledging in this way:
"Flow cytometry was performed in the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (JCCC) and Center for AIDS Research Flow Cytometry Core Facility that is supported by National Institutes of Health awards P30 CA016042 and 5P30 AI028697, and by the JCCC, the UCLA AIDS Institute, the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, the UCLA Chancellor's Office, and the UCLA Vice Chancellor's Office of Research."
Please help. Otherwise, UCLA investigators will have to pay the unsubsidized recharge rates for non-UCLA affiliates (see below). Users who are not affiliated with UCLA are required to pay the unsubsidized rates as seen in the last column of our Services table.
